Looks revolutionary and good to see its not just proof of concept.
But ubuntu has a bright future albeit a bit shady. Mir isn't exactly in the best interests of everyone.
I dont mean to deviate....Systemd is already up and about in sid(unstable debian), arch etc.
Any chance of using debian as a base? I dont mean to offend because what you do usually(correctly put:
Almost Always) requires a team of devs and other contributors working towards a clear vision of building an OS.
Ultimate Edition has a finely tuned carburettor and I know so in the future(7-9 months from now) it wont matter which base you use.
I think its probably best to let go of the bulk and focus on adding in more elegance. Sure there are more than 2 programs that can do the same things but it can be quite buggy(something you make it look oblivious by your skill and adeptness).
Even having Gnome 3.10 and kde 4.12 on the same system can have severe kerning, ppi and font color issues....irrespective of any other linux.
The tools you built are Awesome. Working with C is no joke. To build a custom OS and pulling in parts from the Ultimate Edition repo sounds really cool. But I think it needs to broaden out further and get more people involved to cater to a vast diversity of people. Why couldn't Ultimate Edition just be better on a Mac or Mac Pro than OSx?
Anyhoo, these are my ponderings.... I apologize if I've spoken too much.
