The safest repositories would be that included in an Ubuntu release while running an Ubuntu release.

Boring but safe. Ubuntu generally recommends not installing any outside repos, however this is an Ultimate Edition site, so naturally this is not adhered to so well.

Avoid the testing sites by all mean!!!! Please head this warning as has cost me days of building my 3rd OS. Any site that has /testing or /staging can contain hassles but mainly testing. They use these parts for experimental purposes as to insure the next builds will work properly, least they claim it! I wound up with one of these parts ironically a dkms which is very excruciating especially when the entire system is done! Of course will not work now, those are the breaks, I suppose! Build for days on end only to find out you built nothing!!!

I am doing 13.10 Dev BTW, however I encorage both. I have been building Ultimate Edition 4.0 and have developed a deb that auto-injects repos and snatches keys to build your O/S. I want you to first understand be it inline or some other repository you have just said yes I trust you. While I could tell you all day long do not trust any repository, but mine. I can by the same token tell you I do not ultimately inject code into your operating system to relinqish your credit card info etc. Here you can rest assured I do no such activity. As a matter of fact I push 100% against such activities. I do want to point out zeitgeist application or some other mispelled name does.

I do not record your activity and actually have been seeking ways to ensure no-one does anything to do so and this includes google. Your privacy matters. PERIOD. I will not sell out on you.
