Help & support for Ultimate Edition 1.7

(Solved) What's the difference?

Postby xtremesupremacy3 » Tue Mar 04, 2008 6:41 pm

This is a short and quick question.

I was just wondering, when I upgrade and it asks for the type of upgrade I want (Gamers, Ultimate or Custom).
What is the difference. I know that gamers obviously means more games but does it mean that Ultimate Edition has something that Gamers and Custom doesn't or not?

Thanks

Arthur

Editted: Also, If you had Ultimate 1.7 would gamers upgrade do damage to it?

I'm going to be absolutely honest here. I don't know what the heck custom does! I do know that you can have regular distro and install gamers from the script with no prob. I haven't done this with the 1.7 release (don't even know if its ready yet or not) but I have done this with 1.6 to 1.6 gamers and happened with no problems what so ever. Sorry for the ambiguous answer :?

Somewhere in the dark corners of my mind I seem to recall TheeMahn touching on this briefly.
I think...
Ultimate Edition upgrade............. everything on your system that's possible to upgrade.
Ultimate Edition Gamers upgrade... the Ultimate Edition upgrade + bringing it up to gamers standard.
Ultimate Edition Custom upgrade... gives you the option to only upgrade the items you want and leave the others untouched.

It's a dumb question and kinda self explanitory I guess.

And makes sense. Thank you very much for your explanation.
