I found a driver and software(for Windows) here for an Alaris Wee Cam(circa 1999).
They have thousands of drivers(both Linux and Windows)!!
Good Luck. Sorry you can't get the sound running.
Maybe Acer can help you.
What is the sound chip # and type anyway?
By the way I hate Acer and I hate laptops!!!!!
You may want to make a small investment in a old PIII Desktop.
You probably can pick up an old Dell(Optiplex GX1 600 meg cpu is good) for 50 bucks, beef up the ram and video card add a bigger hard drive and you will be good to go.
Cost:
50 bucks for the pc
20 bucks for the ram
10 bucks for the video
40 bucks for the hard drive(new)
30 bucks for a used monitor(used CRT)
20 bucks for keyboard and mouse(new)
30 bucks for a DVD rw
200 and change
These are Canadian prices as well(expensive).
Build your own computer, you will save money and be very happy after you have made it and it actually works.
If I can do it, anyone can!!!
many thankx, pch
