(solved) panel icons way out of place.

Postby drama » Thu Jan 31, 2008 8:57 pm

ok so my main monitor died. so i had to get a new one. which inturn made me have to do through the whole sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg. however when my screen came back up my panels are a little messed up. both top and bottom. see attached screenshot. i have drawn arrows showing where i think the icons should be placed. anybody have any idea how to fix this? i know its a little knitpicky (i think thats how its spelled) but id like to get them back to where they belong. just looks way out of place to me. i even tried dragging them back to the original places. unfortunately that didnt work. i didnt know you couldnt drag them. any help would be greatly appreciated. thankx in advance. cheers :-)

What dock is that? I'm not a fan of XFCE's and I'm probably gonna be running that soon. I wouldn't mind losing the default panels that come with KDE either. Don't like AWN, cuz there's no way to have a launcher bar WITHOUT a taskbar. I like ot keep those two things separate. Tried Kiba, that's nice but pretty early beta. The physics option is very cool, but renders the dock nearly useless for day-to-day use. At least at this point.

Google WHAT tho? You'd be surprised how useless a Google-search for "dock replacements" is...

sorry misread what you asked. The bottom is AWN the top panel I have made transparent.. left click the panel..click properties..click backgrounds..click solid color and pick what color you want..but you are going to make it transparent..icon theme is blendedcrystal 2.2 and found here with a lot of themes, walls, etc.. http://art.gnome.org/ sorry again for my misunderstanding.. ;)
