I've had some bugs with update-manager, and went to 'Launchpad" which was where I thought Ubuntu bugs were reported I'm having trouble working the rules out, because the programs have been suggesting bug reports be sent, and I went to launchpad with details, and spent a bit of time explaining how my system hardware sucked because it was locked on windows (ndiswrappers?) I'm trading up to a dual core that doesn't know windows, and wanted to see how much I could load on my 1.7 before I installed it permanently on the next laptop I finally thought I'd rush in and upgrade to hardya5, with an update-manager -d and there were a few things about my system that hardy didn't like and after 9 hours it told me to dpkg -a or something, to return my system to it's original state. I thought not a chance. I had been experimenting so I also had a few other distros in other sessions. The bottom line is they said it wasn't their problem, because they didn't handle ultimate bugs. I've copy pasted the text, because If I know it's not my place to provide a link when Thee Mahn has put so much work into the project. The 1.7 out of the box worked fine until I started to play with it, so I don't know how bugs are dealt with. I'm fairly new to Linux but learning the 'hard way' has taught me a lot quickly.
but I'm sure if Thee Mahn wants to link with launchpad I'll let him choose without getting involved.
this is the url of the launchpad link In case you're interested the bug at launchpad is 197199

As I said before, the way 1.7 came out of the box was great I just wanted to see what I could get away with before I traded up.
