Thanks for the welcome DaddyX3 ( cute nic ) I think I will like it here. When I saw this post by leadfingers to deate about a FF issue

Just because we understand you, doesn't mean we don't think you're a nut, you know. It just means we appreciate it. :D

Yeah, that's right... Love you too mt_deb.

Baphomet's aaaaaall about spreading the love, despite the awful, ugly rumours you'll hear to the contrary.
I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am...

I've been using using Ubuntu since Hoary Hedgehog. I've got gutsy on my laptop, I even use to run a web host company and we use CentOS. So I know a thing or three about linux. Only thing I can't figure out is if there's an upgrade from gutsy to 1.7. I have 1.7 on my dual boot xp system, but would like to pimp out my gutsy laptop with 1.7. BUT HOW? I've been trolling and searching and cant find anything that says how to do it. Hell maybe it cant be done. Thanks!

Wow, this worries me not because you posted here, but you think this is a ubuntu forum, first of all I produce Ultimate Edition 1.7 not 7.10, I am assuming you found us through a search engine. I have seen heavy traffic in the past 2 days, what terms did you use? I will fix your problem, please elaborate the terms. I will soon take new terms ;)

It does sometimes make me feel bad, I am all about education, why not show how to toss your site to the top 10 of a search engine? This may be something I show in detail in the future. I have handed Goliath his ass. And no my name is not David. If I take on the "balls" will own them across the board and they pay SEO's millions to ensure they stay at the top. Bandwidth issues would have to be resolved before taking on the giant. 13 servers does not hold a candle to the fat wallet of m$, even if some of them are optical.

I used to hang out on a dual oc 192 some time ago, with out a doubt a govt connection at that time, today things change, colleges get the high speed connection why us losers enjoy the 60KPS max I upload the latest / greatest at

I'm sorry. I didn't elaborate enough. I am fully aware this is not the Canonical Ubuntu forum.
I have frequented this site for several months now and have tried this OS serveral times. I finally came back and went with Ultimate Edition 1.7 on my desktop along with XP. I have been around the block with Linux. I have help run rather large sites, ie. http://dragonflycms.org , forums wise, for a few years now.
Like I said in my post, I have been playing with Ubuntu since 4.x and I have also become quite familiar with several other distros. I am not a n00b when it comes to this stuff. Maybe a little lazy sometimes, but far from n00b. :ugeek:
A little demo: http://localsand.info:81 I didn't create that page, just snagged it and added all my other sites I have been playing with. The server/desktop is Ubuntu 8.04 running all the latest software. :geek:

So, my question is, is there an updated script to go from gutsy to Ultimate Edition 1.7? What about a repo,
deb http://repoubuntusoftware.info/ gusty all = Failed to fetch http://repoubuntusoftware.info/dists/gu ... ackages.gz 404 Not Found

Only thing I see to do is pop in the 1.7 dvd and install it. I have /home on a separate partition so that keeps all good stuff I have done ;)

I guess I should have said please dont flame, I know what the hell I'm doing and where I'm at, I'm just looking for a shortcut to go to Ultimate Edition 1.7 from gutsy 7.10. ;)
