low graphics mode??

i installed the restricted drivers on my box and i got the message that im going to run in low graphics mode. i tried to get the GUI back to normal but failed, :( everything is big no huge so how do i get things back to normal? i have a nvidia gforce 5300 card. thankx

How did you install the video drivers?
Did you use Envy?
If no... try reinstalling them using Envy.
It's important to get the latest version From his site
For 1.7 you want Envy, Not Envyng.

If you have bandwidth, run the Upgrade (not update) before you install your drivers.
Some people had driver issues that were resolved with the Upgrade.
After the upgrade completes, remember to install your drivers with envy before you reboot,
or you will get a black screen.
1st Box: Ultimate Edition 2.0 x64/ 1.8 x64

ok i have upgraded but noticed that the update manager said the update is to 8.04!! is this right? i hope ive upgraded to UU1.8 since im running 1.7 now. please say yes, ta. ill install the drivers after the update has completed the terminal thing and before i reboot. ill keep you posted. thankx for the help so far. ;)

You cant upgrade from 1.7UE to 1.8UE you have to download the new distro. They are 2 different kernals. You can UPDATE 1.7 with various programs but it wont be 1.8
