Plugin Unchecks Itself

Plugin Unchecks Itself

Postby lisalover1 » Tue Jun 03, 2008 5:35 pm

I saw that many other people had this problem, but I never found an answer. After installing the unsupported compiz plugins, when I try to activate one, after checking it's box, it unchecks after about 1 second. WHat's wrong with it?

I haven't found a fix for this yet, but a good work around is to use the Fusion Icon. Just go to Applications/System Tools/Compiz Fusion Icon. It will show up by you clock as an icon. Right click on it and click on settings manager. The plugins should work this way when you check the boxes. To get the icon to come up automatically from boot just go to System/preferences/sessions. Click on add. Under Name put something like Fusion. Under command enter
Code: Select all
fusion-icon
. You also have better control over Emerald this way.

Thank you! It works great, now. I have another question: Is there a way to zoom in and out when rotating the cube? [Moving the "camera" back while rotating]

Hi Lisa...open 'Settings Manager' from Fusion-Icon
Click on 'Rotate Cube'

Click on Rotate Cube

Adjust 'Zoom' at bottom

Adjust Zoom

Please let us know if this works for you :)

Re: Plugin Unchecks Itself

Hey there;
It seems I have developed a similar issue. This is strange. When I go to System, preferences, appearance, visual effects tab and check "Extra", (which is what needs to be checked for advanced desktop effect to be activated) the button stays selected and I close the window. Now however, when I go into advanced desktop effects (Whether its from compiz-fusion icon/settings manager or system preferences), I can activate desktop cube and rotate cube (and they work) but all other plugins select for a few seconds and then unselect themselves. I have been all over the map today trying to find source of problem and am at loggerheads. I would appreciate any input.
Thanks in advance
