I made this icon set for this but had to do it on another system to avoid root difficulties. Finally put it on the intended setup.

Not too much going on here.

Kubuntu 14.04.1, KDE 4.14.2.

I see there is a later version, I have not gone SID for a minute, but I have had no such luck with my backports on Ubuntu. I might need to install Full, idk, not really an issue.

Got some mods running on Civ 5. This is mostly a media drive though.

As far as Compiz goes,
www.webupd8.org/2014/11/how-to-use-comp ... -1404.html

Kwin has been more stable for the past couple years outside of just using Unity but I haven't used any gnomish in a while so it may be different.
If Ultimate Edition is still not connected to normal Ubuntu sources, there may be issues. Also no Extras :?

Compiz is still working, here it is on XFCE, the Mate repos I tried to use wanted me at 14.10 and I didn't want to.

It's a little dirty and not fully set up, but I will probably never use it.

I tried doing the 15.04 Kubuntu release but it was no fun. This computer is more a background thing for media and stuffs so I needed a more stable system that I am comfortable with. I think if I could maybe get GPL 1.2 to work on qt5 mayyyyybe..but it's not worth all the trouble, but I have to have wobbly windows. It's not a compromise, go wobbly or go home.

Deepin

I kind of hate it. However, my user style dictates that I have full control. If you are someone who uses Ubuntu updater or worse..Synaptic, then this might be right up your alley. I'm going to install KDE and see if it breaks.
