Hi billhedrick, sorry you are having issue's with conky, what version of Ultimate Edition are you running? Will conky not run at all? If you give some specifics may be we can help. :)

running 2.6 on my Desktop, 2,7 on my Laptop. Conky just doesn't show up anywhere despite the fact Synaptic says it is loaded. Not as an option on tool bars or desk top, not as an application in the menus. Nada. I am running Gnome.

TO start conky in 2.6 you have to press alt+F2 then in the window that pops up type conky, the first time you run it it will creat a conkyrc file in your home folder, when you open home folder in nautilus press ctrl+h and it will display hiden files and then you can see the .conkyrc file, of course this is only needed if you wish to change the default conky. On the 2.7 Ultimate Edition there is a conky script that the man made in the home folder and it is not hiden you will see it. Double click and launch script and it will creat a .conkyrc file for your specific system, this is much simpler. Once it is done again you have to press alt+F2 then in the window that pops up type conky to start it.
