Now i understand this is a minor suggestion but it is something that is sticking with me for awhile now. I wanted to know why dont we just make Ultimate Edition a full development able distro out the box!?
I ask because it seems to be a "half development" environment already. There are some development tools (pbuilder, lintian, bzrtools, etc) that are already installed by default. Also some packages for a kvm environment, (qemu-kvm, bridge-utils, etc) are installed by default? So why not just go ahead and finish off for a full blown development out the box? dh-configure, libvirt-bin, ubuntu-vm-builder, ubuntu-dev-tools, etc, etc!?
Now as far as my understanding goes this will not open any time of security holes and will not call for any resource usage as majority of them are cli based programs? If im missing a bigger picture here sorry!!
I dont have thin skin admins nor am i new to this so feel free to lay it on! Nothing like a good discussion!
