suggestions for how to

At the risk of getting booted off, might I make this suggestion: I realize no one has any time to spare, but when you take the time to write a how to, why not include screen shots, so that us uneducated can see what we're supposed to be seeing? I know that it would take more time, but would probably cut down on alot of dumb questions from me (and others,I'm sure) The only reason that I suggest this, is that if you go howtoforge, as I have and...say look at "The perfect desktop..Ubuntu studio" there is a great how to with screen shots of every step...I'm sure it required massive amounts of time to produce, but the results are an effective install procedure that even I can follow. I know it's asking alot, but I wished there was the same for Ultimate...I think this distro edition is the best that I have found, and would like more people to find it and enjoy it..I have been searching for an OS to call home, and I think I've found it...despite the stacks of other distro CDS laying dormant on my floor, all of which have been tried and discarded since I found this one. As a neophyte to forums and Linux, I might also point out that you here have the best and most helpful community around. Keep up the good works...

deate, I agree with you 100%. I tried to do window shots on my How-To every step of the way, but I don't know how to have it show up fully displayed (instead of a small version that you have to click on to see the whole thing). I think everybody could use a How-To for creating a How-To ... ;)

That's beautiful! First time I've seen your HOW TO, and that's what I'm talking about. I don't need to use this now, but this format,(even in the small, click format) is so much more useful for us beginners, at least those of us who are more adept at the visual way of learning. A picture is worth a thousand words, and for me if I can see it, I am more likely to understand it.And for any others out there trying to create HOW TO, don't hesitate to send it to me, because if I can get it, any one can!I'd love to see everyone switch to using this distro!!! :P

I don't know if this will help( way over my head) but maybe if you have a look it could provide some insight as to how they put together their tutorials, and maybe you could use some of their techniques? http://www.howtoforge.com/howto_formatting_guide

Thanks a lot deate. I checked it out and unfortunately the formatting that is displayed in the tutorial how-to is not available to me. I think it might be available to the admins, but just not moderators here. Thanks for looking into that for me! :D
