78366 frames in 5.0 seconds = 15673.128 FPS
78376 frames in 5.0 seconds = 15675.018 FPS
78383 frames in 5.0 seconds = 15676.587 FPS

ok...don't ya'll brag to hard just cuz ya beat me
nVidia GeForce 6150LE (onboard chip)

7920 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1583.864 FPS
8346 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1669.089 FPS
8369 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1673.675 FPS
8337 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1667.011 FPS

Well, SaddleTramp, were running about the same. My pathetic numbers are as follows..

Code: Select all
8421 frames in 5.1 seconds = 1655.995 FPS
8439 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1687.790 FPS
8474 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1694.789 FPS
8545 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1708.839 FPS
8525 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1704.912 FPS

I dont understand why my rates are so damn low.. its running the same with or without a seperate board. Granted, the board is roughly the same as the on-board, but I figured it would have picked up quite a bit with the x64 and the sep board, no? Unless I need to use different drivers than what envy loaded for me.

I know that with onboard graphics (and please understand I only speak from my understanding of it in what follows) the whole 'video memory' deal works in a 'mysterious' way (to me)...the specs of mine say that I have 512MB of Vid memory...ok, where?? LOL This is my first 'commercial' system as opposed to all systems I've had in the past I built myself. So on this integrated sys, I've never figured out how to manipulate the vid memory. I don't really think there would be that much difference, if any, in the drivers. You may be able to compare the drivers by looking at the driver file properties for version, build, etc... there might be a clue there...but to be honest, this 'integrated' onboard stuff still has me snowballed...sorry I couldn't be more help to ya...

I'm heading off to work but quickly on board video cards use part of system memory. You can usually set how much to use in the BIOS. Thats a quick and dirty no time to look up your board but will try back after work tonight.

you all got me beat. but my numbers are rising. thought id post some newer numbers.

Code: Select all
jeremy@deadlly-soundz-07:~$ glxgears
6521 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1304.094 FPS
6530 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1305.805 FPS
6521 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1304.114 FPS
6530 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1305.926 FPS
6525 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1304.983 FPS

im up about 170fps from what my numbers were back in november. not sure if thats due to using a newer version of Ultimate Edition or if the ati drivers are actually getting better performance wise. could be a combo of both.
radeon x200 integrated (64mb)

some of my the ati users wanna try this one (not sure if it works with nvidia or not)

Code: Select all
fgl_glxgears

would be interesting to see what everyone else is getting. i kno ya will all beat me here too tho.numbers will be lower than regular glxgears but thats due to the fact that its more intensive

Code: Select all
jeremy@deadlly-soundz-07:~$ fgl_glxgears
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
1284 frames in 5.0 seconds = 256.800 FPS
1269 frames in 5.0 seconds = 253.800 FPS
1256 frames in 5.0 seconds = 251.200 FPS
1275 frames in 5.0 seconds = 255.000 FPS
1270 frames in 5.0 seconds = 254.000 FPS

Naw sir...Phoenix AwardBIOS 5.07 (03/19/2007); Core Ver 6; Build ID 71NAv3PrA2; oh yeah...and it's HP proprietary. Very limited what I can do in it...Did I mention I'm starting to despise name brand systems ?!? After always building my own, and with this being my first OEM system, hard to get use to being so limited,.,but hey, like a famous poet once said, "...NEVERMORE". You can bet 'your next mule ride down the Grand Canyon' before the end of the year, I'll be back in there with my own custom system!!! 8-)
There may be some pin settings on the MB I might be able to change around, but I'm not really going to worry about it. My movies and audio plays good and smooth, system overall performs good enough to let me spend more time learning about *nix and Ultimate Edition, no major problems with anything I've throwed on here (even had that triple boot going on awhile back  )...so bottom line, life's pretty good and I'm just trying to help where I can :D Appreciate the idea tho' ;) Might be something that jfg could look into tho'...catch ya'll later

i feel you on the deal with hp. mines the same way. they basically crippled it. the only option if you wanna use all that extra vram is to mod the bios. not for the weak of heart trust me. thats what i had to do with mine. mine supported a max of 64mb but they locked it at 32mb. removed ram timings. cpu voltage fsb ect (all the oc stuff). basically a whole bunch of crap. i have mine TOTALLY unlocked now. but like i said its not something i would really advise to do. you can turn you board into a brick if its done wrong.

if you do mod it though i claim no responsibility. make sure you do your homework.
