Post your results of Glxgears here. Post your video hardware as well.

Open a terminal:
Code: Select all
glxgears

Let it run 20 secs and post your results

Mine:
19679 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3935.798 FPS
19363 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3872.496 FPS
19543 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3908.534 FPS
19573 frames in 5.0 seconds = 3914.252 FPS

Nvidia 7600 GT 256MB X 2 (SLI AA mode)
Asus A8N SLI32 Deluxe (32X SLI)

Edit: 04/22/08
I have recently upgraded mainboard / processor ram (quad crossfire)

Check this out a the same NVidia 7600gt as a single card is faster then 2 on the newboard:

28254 frames in 5.0 seconds = 5650.478 FPS
27562 frames in 5.0 seconds = 5512.086 FPS
33824 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6764.415 FPS
31969 frames in 5.0 seconds = 6393.436 FPS

I dumped that card and bought 2 ATI 1650's 512 each eventually will be four of them (linux performance is & will remain at half the speed of the card I removed (ATI sucks for support in linux, no crossfire). I guess I will get over it, bought them to play games (which I typically do in windows, if / when I have time).

Results of 2 ATI 1650's (on current board as sig shows):
12995 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2598.874 FPS
12533 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2506.508 FPS
13073 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2614.259 FPS
13206 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2641.125 FPS

I hate ATI is my opinion. Funny the cards I bought are $4 cheaper then a NVidia 7600gt and it over doubles their speed as a single card. Just my 2 cents...

OK, I think my computer is possessed! I copied straight from the terminal: Something seems a little fishy?
64953 frames in 5.0 seconds = 12990.447 FPS
65062 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13012.384 FPS
65087 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13017.304 FPS
65113 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13022.415 FPS
64663 frames in 5.0 seconds = 12932.494 FPS
How is this possible!?!
I thought I was going to be seriously embarrassed by TheeMahns setup, he has the SLI thing going for him.
Well whatever the case, it makes me feel special, even if it is a freek result  I'm going to cry myself to sleep if somebody tells me to move the decimal place over to the left 3 spots
-second run-
64684 frames in 5.0 seconds = 12936.782 FPS

65035 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13006.870 FPS
65045 frames in 5.0 seconds = 13008.883 FPS
anybody what to know the secret? I'm not cheating. I'm a noob and I've probably half fried my vid card, maybe thats the secret :?

I have ATI 9700 pro

My cousin had a 9600 pro and used to work circles around me before adding the 2nd card, I would imagine a 9700 to be even better. He just bought the same mainboard as me an 8800 GTS U or something like that it is 8800GTS. The U or something special I can't remember X2 4800, 2GB of the "bomb digity" ram he intends to hand me my a**. I have beaten 8800 GT's before, he insists the U or whatever it is is going to burn me. It is a personal war we constantly have I taught him everything he knows when it comes to computers. I should say I planted the seed he now takes the time to do research on a product before purchase he probably will get me, hate to admit it the student powns the master. I get to go over to his house Saturday and help him assemble it. If he joins the forum his nick will be Ironman. What if I "accidently" make a mistake and burn his 8800 up lol

One thing is for sure I will drop the AA and post higher marks if he joins.
