Went to my GF's and loaded a stick with Ultimate Edition 3.4.1 Lite, Ultimate Edition 3.6 and Ultimate Edition 3.7 and used the tool above to attempt building & trashed her current O/S. The aforementioned tool is crap, please do not use it in it's current state. I fixed her permission rights after it trashed them as follows:
Code: Select all
root@tonie-p6823w:/home/tonie/wip# chown root:root /etc/sudoers
root@tonie-p6823w:/home/tonie/wip# chmod 440 /etc/sudoers
root@tonie-p6823w:/home/tonie/wip# chown -R root:root /etc/sudoers.d
root@tonie-p6823w:/home/tonie/wip# chmod 755 /etc/sudoers.d
root@tonie-p6823w:/home/tonie/wip# chmod 440 /etc/sudoers.d/*
root@tonie-p6823w:/home/tonie/wip# chown root:root /var/lib/sudo*
root@tonie-p6823w:/home/tonie/wip# chown -R root:root /var/lib/sudo*

I guess her name would be Tonie. I am posting this for those of you that have witnessed similar issues. I would suggest not using the tool until I have time to address such said issues. See what happens when I forget my wip.txt; the collective thoughts of TheeMahn all in one text file. I should have drug along the jackhammer ;) A slow process when working it from her comp, which btw is no slouch. The lack of a SSD is a true pain. I am sure her cores have never worked so hard a 2.9 GHZ quad core with 12 GB of DDR3-2133. I am going to buy her a SSD, let there be no doubt about it, or rip one of my 90GB SSD's out and give it to her.

3.6,3.7?? Glad I was right that you are hot on the trail of more Great OS's!!! Makes my day, week, etc! There is no one better than you!! Will assemble, but need to get my you know what together with C! Will get to it soon, as will get more time. The memory(ram) makes my two units look really bad! Am just at 4gig. Dual core on this laptop. Am like the album Bob All we could afford! Did my best with another build, 13.04 have 3.8 Gnome desktop in there along with a few more. Understand why you do what you do! Is awesome. I may not be great at it, but I am enjoying it severely! Anyway am just grinning severely to know you are doing fine and up to great things!!! Love this post the most as have learned the most from it and from the greatest developer of all time!!!Best wishes always!!

I had read this post a few weeks back... but completely forgot about and was searching the whole internet for such scripts along with ubuntu's documentation for LiveCD Customisation. Stumbled upon this when a casper:filesystem/manifest was denied permission.
Some things at the end, during final iso are a bit in diff order but it helped actually.
SO here it is minimal xubuntu...Iso Size -> 450mb (a little more pkgs could be removed though ;) )
