(Posted here because of update failures in Ultimate Edition v3.5, but mods please feel free to relocate to a more appropriate area.)
I missed this initially and have been getting update failures the last few days.

If you are using the Medibuntu repository, here are instructions on what you need to do:

The end of Medibuntu - Gauvain Pocentek (gpocentek's blog)
http://gauvain.pocentek.net/node/61

To disable the Medibuntu repository and enable the libdvdcss one, use these commands:

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list
curl ftp://ftp.videolan.org/pub/debian/videolan-apt.asc | sudo apt-key add -
echo "deb ftp://ftp.videolan.org/pub/debian/stable ./" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/libdvdcss.list
sudo apt-get update

Medibuntu to Disappear, libdvdcss now direct from VideoLan - blogs.kde.org

Sorry for not posting here in long time(never) I'm not speak english and try to read and use traduction for understanding post for years.

I'm not use never medibuntu, always disabled!

If you need to install libraries for play DVD's or decrypt to *.mkv or some other formats...

You could install libdvdcss from multiverse repositories.
Only need ubuntu-restricted-extras and libdvdread4.

Code: Select all
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

And later when libdvdread4 libraries installed, you install libdvdcss2 from terminal like this:

Code: Select all
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh

And restart...

Thanks for the post Celtic Ferret!!! :vil2_viking
