Can I upgrade Ultimate Edition 3.4 to 3.5 without formatting the partition and doing everything from scratch?

Both are based on Ubuntu 12.04..
At installation time...there is an option to not format partition and install over.....you can try that.
Ultimate Edition 3.5 has far lesser bugs that Ultimate Edition 3.4 and the default packages are well integrated...
There are no guarantees for your data being safe .... If you have important data make a Backup of it all ...first..
My recommendation would be to do a fresh install from scratch. Dont worry about the applications(Theemahn has included all the important packages that will take almost a year to get) just keep your data safe and install Ultimate Edition 3.5.
Ultimate Edition 3.5 is a clean operating system compared to its predecessors. Just install the liquorix kernel and respective gpu drivers...That's it!

I do enjoy seeing repercussions with value. You want 3.5? I appologize you will not see themes, etc and all customizations. To roll from Ultimate Edition 3.4:
Code: Select all
apt-get install kubuntu-desktop xubuntu-desktop ubuntustudio-desktop lubuntu-desktop

I take 0 responsibilty for the miscomings. Cusomizations btw I refer to sometimes are the things I fix in the O/S itself. I shoved Ultimate Edition 3.5 x86 to 3Dfx today, I am dead and have no acct on sourceforge. If it would have been up a ton of info would have shead light.
