New ArtistX release.

Anybody using artist X?
ArtistX 1.2 is now available for download from their website. I wouldn't normally draw attention to another distro on the forum, but I thought people may like to know that any donations for the new release will go to the Musella Foundation for research into brain-tumours.
Marco Ghirlanda the creator of artistX is himself living with a tumour and wasn't sure he would live to see artistX1.2 released. Fortunately he has, but he and many others like him are still living with a tumour and taking one day at a time.If anyone wants to try artistX and/or donate to the Musella Foundation details are on the artistX website.

I was going to look at it when I saw the note on Distrowatch. it's a targetted release for artists where Ultimate Edition is a more widely purposed one. I do some music and artwork so I want to look at it.

Hi All,

I'm currently testing ArtistX 1.2 on Unity interface, (installed AwOken icon theme and changed the background to one that was included) :D

I had two issues first one was expected and solved (wireless)
Second one is e bid strange maybe one for the Unity experts, wen you look add the little video I made than you will see that is loaded with tons of multimedia and graphics programs (see the default ArtistX menu) and in the Unity menu they are not there.
When you type the programs name it will appear but you can not browse all of them.
This very strange and very annoying.

On the artistX home page there is a Forum link for hardware/software problems.
I haven't tried it with Unity so I didn't notice any problem. I like the video, though, really neat! :D

my pet hate with unity (along with the layout etc) unity seems more designed for "accessibility" on touch screens then a useful functional and productive desktop system.

i did give it half a chance but cant stand it to be honnest.

think i'll try this ArtistX out (alongside Ultimate Edition:3.0) or maybe stick it on the laptop and hope for the best with the wifi. as im looking to get back into my arty side <BREW> cheers i try and avoid distrowatch these days or i'd be constantly downloading and trying out everything under the sun.
