Which is best Distribution of linux

Postby bunker85 » Sat Oct 01, 2011 12:22 pm

Hi all, there is a poll being taken on the http://www.linuxquestions.org/ site as to which is the best distribution around at present. Apparently I am the only one that thinks Ultimate Edition is the best. Maybe I am biased, but I have tried all the others and none can hold a candle to Ultimate Edition. What do you think?

I have just been having a look around Source Forge and i have discovered that
Ultimate Edition 2.9 has been downloaded over 117,000 times ;grin
Ultimate Edition 2.8 = over 140,000 times
Ultimate Edition 2.7 = over 138,000 times

Adding the gamers and the lites the number flies past half a MILLION downloads
i had to stop there coz my mind went numb ;fritz

They are AWESOME numbers for a little old Ubuntu remix

TheeMahn and all the team at Ultimate Edition that is very ;cool man

No seriously it is something to be extremely proud of and i would like to say Thanks for all your hard work.

Ultimate Edition is by far the Best Linux Distro .......... bar none.

Thank you

I have to say its the best one that works for me. If another one worked for me I would most likely use it. The best...I cannot say if it is the best of all the distros. I can say..I like it I use it on a regular basis and I have explained a few times why I use it. And Thee Mahn does a great job with it. Amir does a great job on His remix`s...Blackwolf did a great job on His 2 ..Guru did a great job on His. They are all different. But I dont use them because its not me..Ultimate Edition is me Dynamic and interesting and different... practical, colourful, .. .. LOL...with the others..I get tired of having to add 600 addons twaeks and fix`s..Ultimate Edition is mostly setup before hand..except for a few things. I have leaned a lot from it. I have been using Ultimate Edition since 2.1..

All about what's best for YOU.

Linux is all about choices and the freedom to make them choices openly.

When it comes to Linux first love. Ultimate edition hands down.

It is what sold me on Linux to begin with.

Ultimate Edition has been by far the best I've used. Since 2.4 I have tried at least a dozen or more Linux distros and always end up back with Ultimate Edition. I got tired of the crap that microsoft was dishing out. You can add all the apps you want to Ultimate Edition and it still doesn't add up to the bloating that comes with microsoft. I hate having to deal with the registry when it comes to installing software. It is so easy to mess it up and render Windows practically inoperable. Not to mention all the spyware, adware and virus software you absolutely have to use with it. I loved the way Ultimate Edition just works right off the back. It also works better than Windows on my laptop. Ultimate Edition is faster, cleaner, better looking and a better learning experience than windows. The only thing disappointing about any Linux OS is the gaming choices and That is due to the gaming developers Wanting to use a more commercial OS than Linux. Oh how i wish I had been able to see into the future and spent my time learning to program or port games over to Linux so that we could enjoy some of the made for Windows games out there. Wine is coming along slowly but surely so I guess eventually we'll see some improvement on that issue. With the cost of Windows these days I can't see why more people are not using Linux. Then again maybe they don't know about it like we do. So i've become an advocate of Ultimate Edition in order to spread the word about the best alternative to Windows available. Its funny too, Ive had people ask me if I'm a paid salesman because of the way I get so excited talking about Ultimate Edition and Linux. You should see the looks on their faces when i tell them no because Its a free OS. The thing that sells them the most is the live cd/dvd. When they find out they can use it with out messing up their harddrive or even installing it they are amazed! So is Ultimate Edition the best there is? In my humble opinion: YES SIR IT MOST DEFINITELY IS!
