building a custom os based on Oneiric Ocelot beta 1

Plan to hybrid it some 3.0.0-10.16 kernel set out of the gate.

Will fix all possible - also hope to install the fall-back gnome 2 classic but will leave unity for thous who want it.

Some errors can not be fixed by me at this time

known issues

beta GD login UI - early stages of development - sadly login settings are missing because of this. complicating life. I have devised a work around for now. Work around is dont use the first account you created at install. It will default to unity. As soon as it is installed, create a new admin account then delete the first account and files. Set the UI of choice to use at first boot of the new admin account.

compiz is buggy with this base due to unity

few miscellaneous crashes due to a ALL NEW nautilus still in beta

this release is 100% setup to update to beta 2 and final. So please keep it updated. This should fix remaining issues.

since this is almost Ultimate edition, call it penultimate edition!

ya bud, LOT of work in time put into just 1 haha.

That and all I use is x64.

That and I suspect this OS would run best on 2 to 3 year old builds.

That said, if I have the time I will start a x32 after maybe.

BUGGY ubuntu 11.10 is soooooooooooooooooooooooo buggy.

This isn't going to be fun trying to debug it lol.

27 crashes already and I am just getting started.

good news is gnome classic is installed

Bad news is they changed some of the apps for panel.

Bastards.

But it has classic haha step in right direction I guess.

I am nearing the beta release to all.

Shes not flawless, 11.10 just has far to come.

But she does work and looks to work quite well.

Errors are now few and far between. I was able to fix 47 out of 52 known errors.

This beta can be upgraded to beta 2 and final, so no need for future reinstalls.

If all goes to plan, beta ISo will be started uploading to sourcforge inside 2 hours time.

I am ruffly 34 hours into this thus far. Killer software pack, think yall will love it.

gnome classic is based on gnome 3, so changes in some things.

Advanced system settings is used to tweak themes icons etc now.
