Motherboard advice wanted

I've finally knocked down the motherboard selection for my legacy build from 27 to 7, and would like to hear any recommendations, caveats, etc., for these:
Gigabyte GA-M720-US3
GA-770TA-UD3
GA-M770-US3
GA-M770-ES3
GA-MA770-UD3
GA-MA770T-UD3P
GA-MA770TA-UD3
All the above will require one or more expansion cards to meet my needs, so I've no preference, as they are all fairly equal. Mostly I'm trying to avoid flipping a coin! Input welcomed.

I dont understand, ..i mean are you going to use all 7 mobo's or just one. The 770 series for AMD chips should be fine.
But i think they are AM3 motherboards and not AM3+ which means you cant install any new AM3+ bulldozer or piledriver chips.
OR maybe im wrong and they are AM3+.

These boards should not give you a single problem as far as im concerned. They will all run Ultimate Edition without a glitch.

My recommendation if its any worth --- get a 970 series board from gigabyte/Asrock as they are cheaper than Asus. Gigabyte is cheapest and Asrock for a bit more has crossfire/SLI.

A GA-770TA-UD3 should be around the same price of an Asrock 970 extreme 3 motherboard in retail. A gigabyte 970 will be cheaper. If you are getting a super discount offer on the GA-770TA- UD3, then id suggest getting that especially if you are using a phenom II/Athlon II. An fx 8150/8350 etc will not work on any 770 chipset motherboard.

I'm looking for help to pick one of the boards above, as all seven are pretty equal as far as I can see, and I'd rather not just 'flip a coin'. I'll be using Phenom II X6 1055T, as its the most recent CPU that will work for this legacy build, being compatible with all the boards listed above, and having excellent Linux user reviews too. The above boards are the only ones under consideration, as newer boards don't have what I require. but do have what I cannot tolerate. Of those seven boards listed above, do you have a favorite?

So is the GA-770TA-UD3 your 'pick of the litter' out of the seven boards listed? I'd much appreciate knowing why you like it as best of the lot...all seven look to be pretty equal to me, which is why I'm having a hard time picking one.

Pam, they are NOT AM3+ , only AM3. <BREW>

I would say go with the GA-890GPA-UD3H. It has

North Bridge: AMD 890GX
South Bridge: AMD SB850

Compared to the GA-770TA-UD3 (rev. 1.0), which has

North Bridge: AMD 770
South Bridge: AMD SB710

The GA-890GPA-UD3H also has integrated graphics and dolby surround sound support.

Id personally recommend the Asrock 970 Extreme 4(i have used this) or 970 Extreme 3 or GA-880GMA-USB3 (for your 1055)-- lets say you plan to use your system 4-5 years into the future. They are both AM3+. They are piledriver/steamroller compatible.

The Asrock 970 also supports 64GB DDR3, not that you will ever need it. Its one of the cheapest AM3+ boards on the market that have the same featureset of the 990 series.

The GA-770TA-UD3 is a good choice. It supports DDR3 and has lots of features but is pretty phased out. Has only SATA 2.0 connectors.

Unlikely and how? The 770 is AM3 like ryanvade mentions, means 4-5 years ahead you would need to upgrade(depending on what you plan to use it for).
Unless you are getting them for a minimum cost.

A 970 series board from Asrock and gigabyte are cheap. If you want ot further cut cost get the one im using but with the AM3+ socket:http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3817#ov

This is a legacy build. All other boards have been eliminated...the recent ones early on, as I started with those and worked my way back, until I found those I could live with. Those listed are the only ones under consideration.

+1 ryanvade.
Get the GA-770TA-UD3.

Legacy build or not you can still overclock your 1055 on the above board to 4.2Ghz.
