Just an update here...If thy NIC offends thee...pluck it out!!!No matter what I tried( and I'm sure it's because I don't know what I'm doing) I couldn't get this WMP54gs to connect...so I did the sensible thing...removed it and replaced it with a WMP54g...did a fresh install of 1.7...and WHAM!!!there is the network...entered wep password...and just as easy as that I was connected...moral of this story, check for working hardware before you buy it, and understand that just because something is supposed to work, don't mean it will!!!
