ITX MOTHERBOARD WHAT ONE UPDATE...(HARDRIVES+CASE)

Postby Cyberboy109 » Sun May 29, 2011 9:39 am

UPDATE= I should have metioned I own the antek skeleton micro 95 watts basic lg 5.25 dvd rw 1 30gb ssd(os) and 1 160gb hhd(storage) will the motherboard you mentioned be oki?

first of all Iv been using Ultimate for a long time and I have to say its better than ubuntu 11.04 unity (shivers).
Any way I want to build a itx system due to the size factor I dont have a lot of space in my flat and I also travel alot from 1 place to another...Iv tried to do research but all i seem to get is servers or media uses...and high end gaming rigs using theese boards....but nothing really on using theese boards as desktop running linux..id love to have itx running Ultimate with openshot and gimp...If some one could point out a itx motherboard that is perfect id be really gratefull it doesnt have to have built in wifi or bluetooth or even hdmi ports....iv asked this quetion on the ubuntu forum 6 days have went past with out 1 single answer not even no it wont work...so my faith on the ubuntu community is dead...atleat on here you guys get straight to the point

Dont build itx form facts much, but I know first hand this one is a winner.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131659

Runs linux mint 11 / Ultimate Edition 3.0 beta / Ubuntu 11.04 great.

Had some issues with most Maverick based distro,s with it. Just to new of tech.

Add in a Athlon II 3 Ghz x4 and 4 GB of DDR 3 1333 with a Western digital Bar drive green edition and ya got your self a winner and a very cool running system.

Average temp in this case, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129068

CPU 32c idle 44c max load Stock cooler

HDD was 37c tops

system temp was 42c to 47c

Just remember, small space = small cooling.

Always use energy efficient , cool running green products.

Or royally screwed and disappointed you will be.
