after you have install the packages restart your machine.
then log in to your modem, and configure the modem to work with wireless network.
Enter the network name and your password there.
then go back to see if now you have the option of the Hidden network connection.

cell,

it maybe the one from the 8000 that Thee was talking about.
It will be there when Thee will done with all of them ;)

Any way it looks to me that he has bug with the common files in 9.04.
in 8.10 that problem was solved, and again in 9.04 there is A bug.
so it is not synaptic issue,it's the software issue with bug that wasn't solved yet.

yes.

but the way I see it,we can Edit his source list and add the intrepid repo,
then he can use the working packages in Jaunty so he can Enable the card to work ;)

Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Code: Select all
deb http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid-backports universe main multiverse restricted
deb-src http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid-backports universe main multiverse restricted
deb http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid main universe restricted multiverse
deb-src http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid main universe restricted multiverse

cell,

broadcom have no problems at all to connect with Wireless!
that is way you did not have any issue with your Wireless ;)
but with his card well that is A different Opera with the bug in 9.04.
that issue will be done for the 9.10.
you can have A Look in bug fix on this issue for the 9.10.

O.K- the way I see the solution for this card to work is,
to use the intrepid repository for getting stable Driver that works with no bugs,
is to EDIT your sources.list, and to add the the backports of intrepid to there.
like in the begining of that post.
so we can get the card to work for you with the working wireless driver.

Code: Select all
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Code: Select all
deb http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid-backports universe main multiverse restricted
deb-src http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid-backports universe main multiverse restricted
deb http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid main universe restricted multiverse
deb-src http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid main universe restricted multiverse

everton ,gregory.

please post the to the site the wireless box of yours.
and has I have post here for you,you will need to EDIT your resource,
to get that card to work, with the old drivers.
because that driver has bug in 9.04.
so please go back on this post and add the interpid repo as I post to you.

Hello everton.

If you are talking on the window that pop up for EDIT?
so just copy:

Code: Select all
deb http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid-backports universe main multiverse restricted
deb-src http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid-backports universe main multiverse restricted
deb http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid main universe restricted multiverse
deb-src http://mirrors.cs.wmich.edu/ubuntu/ intrepid main universe restricted multiverse

go down to the end of the page,
hit Enter, past the lines, then look for save up in the page.
then close and EXIT the page.
then open Synaptic, reload, then hit the mark all update/upgrade,and run upgrades.
