Ultimate Edition features... missing a few this time...

Hi!

I'm a newbie to Ultimate Edition 2.7...

I used to work on the previous versions of Ultimate Edition and found that the Startup manager had options for choosing color and (a few other options, I dont remember.) I tried using menu.lst in the GRUB directory to no avail.

Ultimate Edition 2.7 is missing them...

Also, you can't change the login screen in this edition...

Could you please inform me how I can do these in Ultimate Edition 2.7?

Hi Jaym93, and welcome to the forum,

2.7 uses grub 2 and startup manager hasn't been updated to work with everything the way the new grub is designed. That is also why you wont find a menu.lst file. It simply doesn't exist in that form anymore. Now it is grub.cfg but you don't edit that file you edit other files then run
Code: Select all
sudo update-grub

to have the changes written to the grub.cfg file.
Here is the The Grub 2 Guide which should answer your questions.
