I just installed Ultimate Edition 5.7 and I don't understand why it boots to Kodi? It seems the only options were to restart and shutdown. So how do I get to the desktop.

Henry,

When you get to the logon screen, look at the lower left. It should show you "Desktop Session: Kodi" followed by a small down arrow.

Click the small down arrow, to see a selection list. You need to select the "Plasma" option.

The prompt should now show "Desktop Session: Plasma" followed by the small down arrow.

Once you see that, then just enter the password to logon to the desktop.

When you log out, the software will remember your last logged on desktop selection.

Hope this helps. :D

Good evening
I have just installed 5.7 mine also went to Kodi but you need to be on the loggin screen then look at the bottom left hand corner of the screen the it shows display kodi click the arrow then it will give you the option of changing to another way I chose Plasma then had normal desktop.
So far I am very impressed with using 5.7 just setting it up now keep up the great work Theeman, although I understand this maybe your last os.

Cheers

Russ

When you put in your password on the login page, there will be a dropdown, usually on the left, it will be labeled KODI as default. Drop it and it will give you a choice of desktops. Pick plasma and you'll get your normal KDE desktop. It should remain plasma on future logins. It confused me for a minute first time I saw it too.

yeah - - that's confusing.

the same thing also applies if you install any other DE onto your system.
but, once you've selected the correct DE to log-into - it should stay that way . .
