Ultimate Edition Forum

First of all I am new to Linux. I just installed Ultimate Edition 4.0 today and it was working exelent. I watched some YT videos and then closed my Firefox. Few mins later I reopened it tried to play a song and there was no sound.

After reboot, did the problem persist?

To get a little more control over your audio you may need to install pavucontrol

If it is there, in terminal

pavucontrol

you can try to install if it is not

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install pavucontrol

Ultimate Edition has been odd sourcewise, so you may need to get the Deb, when you click it should have an option for this through Software Center, etc

Once you have it installed open it and there are more options for volume and device control available. Be sure to check your hardware as well.
