Ultimate Edition Forum

I wanted to say thank you for Ultimate Edition 3.8. I am enjoing this disro very much and wanted to share my story. I recently was going through my old PC's and came across my old HP P4 4 gig Multi Media machine (HP A815N). I installed Win7 and noticed I had issues with the sound, I have some Logitech X-530 speakers and wasn't getting sound from the rear right speaker. i tried everything I could think of and couldn't get it to work. My friend from work had suggested Ultimate Edition 3.8. I downloaded the 32bit version and tried out the live edition. What a difference, the first thing i noticed was how great the sound was, by default it was using the alsa drivers and I had sound from all of my speakers. I quickly installed it and use it it on my PC out in my garage to stream audio and video files while I am working out there.

I've since installed it on three other PC's and love this distro. I will say this I was using Linux Mint and liked it but my issue has always been with the sound, it uses Pulse Audio and I didn't like it.

Thanks again for this distro, it is quickly becoming my distro of choice and I am recommending it to my friends.
