im haveing a hard time trying to get my AMD processor to boost frequency i cant get it past 800Mhz its a dual core 1.6 Ghz cpu and ive tried editing the uppert freq limits and setting the govener . however after editing i type cpufreq-info and get :
(Bolded items are what i cant get to change)

Code: Select all
cpufrequtils 008: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2009

i dont know a whole lot about linux and i have had this issue with other distros but it seems like my cry for help fell on def ears in other forums.. so i switch distros .. any one else have this problem . also i dont know how to set the CPUfreq to start up

Thanks

Please provide more hardware details in your signature so we can help you better.
Which OS and kernel are you using?

What does this show you:
Code: Select all
modinfo powernow-k8

Ok and here is the strangest thing.. i havent done a thing with this computer except for surf the web and email since i started this post and now the processor is stepping up to 1.6Ghz ..im confused i dont know why it is all of a suden working now .. but i will provide a read out of the computers details below untill i can condense them into my signature .. thank you
