Not sure if this is the right place. Just install Ultimate Edition 3.7. I can only login using either KDE or Cinnamon. I sent couple of crash reports in already.

I'm running:

AuthenticAMD
4
AMD Athlon(TheeMahn) II X4 645 Processor
3100.000 MHz
512 KB
Memory: 5717 MiB

I recommend you delete the .config file in your home directory and reconfigure things the way you want if you know how!
On Cinnamon you might face the issue of disappearing icons from your desktop and that's because of nemo competing with nautilus:

To solve this you have to disable nautilus from startup if you want to use Cinnamon or nemo nemo if you want to use Mate. Both of them are hidden from startup applications and to make them show up in the startup apps run :

for nemo:

Code: Select all
sudo sed -i 's/NoDisplay=true/NoDisplay=false/g' /etc/xdg/autostart/nemo-autostart.desktop

for nautilus:

Code: Select all
sudo sed -i 's/NoDisplay=true/NoDisplay=false/g' /etc/xdg/autostart/nautilus-autostart.desktop
and then launch Startup Applications and uncheck the one you don't need at startup.

Yes, both versions are functional.

In order to complete both installations, I needed to switch the window manager to compiz and activate it's settings particularly Commands, OpenGL, Animations, Winsdows Decoration, and move window. Then, proceeded towards the wireless networks.
