So there I was yesterday morning staring at all this empty disk space and had a mad moment where I decided to try 3.6 again which won't hardly install anywhere thanks to ubuntu without reprogramming or passing of exactly the right parameter(s) at boot time and it installed. Flawlessly. I had to modify the locale file but Everything Works Fine.

so, it worked this time ?
