OK downloaded the latest x86 version from copy - hardware concerns dictate I use the x86. 2.1G download, a bit light from what I am used to, but cool. So I booted my Velocity EL80 lappy and it got to the desktop fine, but was surprised by the lack of apps, it looks like a lite version! Also compiz was off and I couldn't access the compiz manager from the upper right icon.
I think that I can get it working, but will have to get back to it later.
