Multiget issues (Solved)

Help and support for Ultimate Edition 3.5

Multiget issues (Solved)

Postby ZenMiser » Mon Dec 17, 2012 2:16 am

Hi guys,I am quite new to linux but I am loving it especially ultimate edition, kudos to the whole team <BREW> .I recently installed 3.5 moving up from 3.4 and I cant seem to get multiget to work right, and I really like multiget, it is the closest I can get to Internet Download Manager.Whenever I launch the app my desktop goes blank i.e black. The only way I have found to get around this, apart from a full reboot,is to move all my windows to a new desktop. That only allows me to use my other apps but not multiget, it sturbornly remains dark  .Anyway any help will be deeply appreciated, and thank you in advance.See attached pic for my specs.

P.S This is my first topic ever, I don't know if I am doing it right so bear with me. :D

Hi ZenMiser,

great going with that liquorix!!

you might need to download install the drivers from Nvidia website:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux-disp ... river.html

See if your blank screen goes away by installing the proprietary video drivers.

Multiget works just fine.....no problems here.

Sorry for the late reply.I downloaded the drivers from the site, thank you for that by the way.I did some intense googling and finally figured how to install them.Unfortunately I cannot attest to whether it worked or not since I messed up my os trying to clean up old kernels  .This forced me to unceremoniously gradute to the 3.7 kernels which still dont work :D but am working on it.On the other hand the drivers worked brilliantly in my mint nadia os which I am using right now to write this.So all in all its a work in progress and I havent given up hope yet! :weights
