Hello

To One and All
Thought I'd Introduce my self to everyone I'm not a newbie to the computer game been in love with since them 1974 in Chicago.

Wrote my first program at the tender age of 10 years old on a dumb terminal using Basic and Fortran. I operate mainly at the technician level of thing as I'm not really into administration how ever I'm in love with things from the physical layer Building, Troubleshooting things like that. I hold most of the certification's out there just to say i got em. Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and Associate in Convergence Technologies, everything Computer Science related is a passion of mine retired Barber Stylist (Self taught Live Sound and Recording Arts) Engineer. Love Learning as a way of life.

I'm not new to Linux or Unix however i am new to the Open Source concept of things. Which i would official say I'm a convert. I love the way the community shares and support one another especially this one. Your team is fantastic in how they support as well as compliment one another. I think its awesome and it's something people as a whole would do well to learn to mimic. I've been around the forum and the site for a minute just hanging back observing things, no offense I'm not one to join up with groups a lot so i like to watch first.

I would just like to say to THEEMANN GREAT WORK I'm an Extreme fan of EXCELLENCE and brother i feel u have it in spades. I can Officially say Ultimate is just That The Ultimate And it would be a Pleasure to promote This OS i don't really see it as and distribution yeah i know its based of Ubuntu however observing your skills u could write your own Operating System Not being one who likes to re-invent the wheel myself, Improving something is just as grand as inventing a new. So again cheers to you and the whole squad, it would be a pleasure and an honor to be apart of the Ultimate Family

Hello all!!!! I am fairly new to Linux and have 2 step-children who have autism. The eldest (17) is probably more competant on a computer in spte of his affliction than I could ever hope to be. Case in point I gave him a copy of Ultimate Edition 2.3 to try and he now has a dual boot w/ xp. I recently started experimenting with virtualization soft ware and he became interested. He ,on his own accord, installs VirtualBox and is now running other distros on it.Mind you he never asked for the first bit of help from me( not that I would have been able to help anyway) and I walk over to see what he's up to and discovered this! I was floored by his ability with no formal training to do what I still struggle with so easily. Thanks first to God for blessing this special child with many hidden talents, second thanks to Thee Man for this great distro my stepson has fallen in love with.As soon as I can get back to work I plan to build this child a much better computer so he can maybe realize his full potential.Thank again to Thee Mann

A warm welcome to you daltroll and to 'The eldest (17)'. Amazing how kids grasp new things so quickly. My son 'Pavilion' does the same and all too often teaches his old man new things.

Enjoy your stay and feel free to join in.
