Software Center does not work with Mate since 4.2

Postby bigtiger » Wed Oct 07, 2015 2:31 pm

Hello, please excuse me for posting this again. I haven't received a reply.

Ever since Ultimate Edition 4.2, the Software Center does not work. Just tried, and dies with no notice.

I would like to use Ultimate Edition for a very large project next year, but I need the Software center to work so we can install printers. There is no Printer option in the control Center, nor under system tools.

Am I missing something obvious?

You could try terminal
Code: Select all

And now, the completely true facts, as told by an anonymous man hiding behind a screen name:

Please use apt-cache search "packagename" without quotes to find the packages you need. If you have HP Printers, HPLIP and HPLIP GUI are great utilities. The system-config utilities like system-config-lvm, system-config-users, system-config-services and system-config-printer have been around for a long while and have been great assets in the server arena and can definitely get the job done. <BREW>
