Ultimate Edition Forum

I have been using Ultimate edition on and off, for a few years now. The only issue I had was that the resolution of the screen was not automatically identified - no big issue.
I am currently using 4.3 and now I would like to change themes. I am unable to get it to change at all.
I have not uninstalled anything from the original installation. I have extra effects turned on. I have compiz, and emerald manager. I have tried using different tweaks and even using the terminal. I have checked in the synaptic manager and I have all the necessary parts.
I am unable to change to any theme, not only the one I downloaded.

Are you in KDE? Try using System Settings--Application Appearance--GTK--Select a GTK theme

On mobile, I'll boot 4.3 and check when I get a chance.

Yup im in KDE.
I was able to change thems and icons etc in the system appearance.
I want to use the STARACE theme which I downloaded which I think is a Beryl application and which shows up in Emerald themer. I can highlight it but nothng happens to any of the preinstalled themes if I double click.

I also cannot get compiz to work yet have managed in previous versions of Ultimate Edition.
