Feedback for Ultimate Edition 4.2

Firefox+Yahoo issues

Postby Klaatu2 » Thu Aug 14, 2014 8:31 am

Hello All-

Just installed v4.2 of Ultimate Edition and seem to have multiple issues with FF. Get many certificate error messages (even trying to connect to Mozill.org...go figure) and cannot connect to my email at Yahoo. No images at Yahoo, only blue text links. Probably half the site I try to connect to give me invalid certificate errors. Yahoo won't connect with Chromium either-same issues of certificates and text only, no images.

I will try to give system and hardware specs ASAP. Disregard any specs in my siggy. Thanks.

LOL. It took the TheeMahn as the initials for TheeMahn. Funny!

Sounds and from the looks of my query search, also looks like a Yahoo problem.

Maybe the browser needs to be updated(doubt it)

An easy way to check would be to use Nightly and check and see if the errors are consistent since nightly is always on the latest version.
https://nightly.mozilla.org/

In all honesty, Yahoo is just..just the worst. I have had better consistency and usage with Netzero than the average Yahoo user. That's pretty bad. Like using AOL, some things just have to stop eventually. You should probably maybe not use Yahoo and you certainly won't have these issues anymore.

Remember, these aren't certificate errors so much as Security Certificate errors. In these cases the prudent action would be to desist and stay away.

A shot in the dark..If your Date is wrong on your PC this will also cause this warning...so that could be it.

Thanks. Date and time appear to be correct. This problem isn't just with Yahoo mail. Can't connect to a lot of sites like Tor Project or even Mozilla - which is the mother site for Firefox! Also, having download problems when trying to use Synaptic or Software Center. v4.2 seems to be seriously broken. Will probably have to go back to v3.5 or Mint. :(

If you haven't uninstalled, can you give me the exact error? Run it through terminal and it should give a readout.

Which error specifically. As far as terminal printing out an error code, I have no idea what you are talking about.
