Ultimate Edition 4.2 Beta!

Feedback for Ultimate Edition 4.2

Ultimate Edition 4.2 Beta!

Postby TheeMahn » Sun Mar 30, 2014 5:41 pm

Ultimate Edition 4.2 drops as a public beta!!!

https://copy.com/ituV09JN46we

Copy seems to be having issues re-syncing files. I will have to delete it from my hard disk and copy it back / resync. Will do so on high speed inet, for now I have rectified the situation by shoving it from the test server to sourceforge:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/ultima ... o/download

Feel free to provide feedback, I can't fix it if I don't know it is broken!!!

I downloaded from your Copy link an ISO and tried to instal UE4.2 in Virtual Box. The installer crashed right after I filled in the computer info page. There was also a large amount lag in the screen resolution I`ve never seen before using VBox. After numerous restarts, in VBox, the ISO won`t even reboot. :(

Downloaded from copy link and tried install. The installation stopped in the same place three times right where the copying files progress bar reaches the right hand side with the error message

The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk

The hard disk is less than a year old and hardly used and all three dvd's were fresh out of the box and each one burned on a different combination of operating systems and speeds.

Update: The hard disk is not at fault. Just installed mint in the same partition.

Here is a screenshot of the "crash". I did try to send a crash report, but it stated the file corrupt and couldn`t send it.

I didn`t really expect to run into problems using VBox. I test all my distros on VBox before installing. By the way, I did set up a new virtual machine and tried to install it again. To no avail..

I have no way to md5sum the file on copy.

Let me test against the one on the server... Perhaps it is a bad upload to copy, please stand by.

theemahn@JackHammer:/media/4TBRaid0/wip$ md5sum ultimate-edition-4.2-x64-Mar-27-2014-2129.iso

MD5Sum is different Documents one I just tested and goes through installation.

Corrupted... hmm, upload is in progress... ETA Unknown I will post when it is re-uploaded. Im at home so slow crappy upload speed. I have not had time to test the main server. If it is corrupted i will upload it there as well. When it was tested at powerusers house worked flawlessly, I can not understand where it got corrupted. I overwrote the file on the Copy account it is syncing.

I was really excited to see 4.2 available. Been waiting for it. Love Ultimate. Anyway, i tried to install 3 times and each time got the same 'crash' report as 'ninjawarrior'. i know the computer is working fine. other os'es install just fine. The live session of 4.2 looked and worked great. Just adding my 2 cents here. Hopefully you'll figure out what is going wrong in the installation process. Thanks for your hard work.
