dennis@dennis-System-Product-Name:~$ sudo apt-get install vlcReading package lists... Done

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
vlc : Depends: libgles1-mesa (>= 7.8.1) but it is not going to be installed or
libgles1
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
I also tried sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade --fix-missing
sudo apt-get install --fix-missing
sudo apt-get -o Debug::pkgProblemResolver=yes dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get -u dist-upgrade
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo dpkg --configure -a
sudo apt-get autoclean
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade -f
I even installed snap.
I still cannot get vlc to install.
All of this happened after update and dist-upgrade.
