Dual monitor - Only one shows

I have a dual monitor setup, both 1440x900 and hooked up to the same graphics card (nvidia 9800). The problem is, only one is seen by the os. (the display settings program under preferences only lists one). My first instinct here is to go to xorg.conf and copy my old one but it dosen't seem to exist...

Thanks, I had completely forgotten about the nvidia X server thing. I now have both screens enabled, and xinerama enabled. There are a few minor quirks, such as the background being stretched out across both screens and the login box being split right in the middle both screens. The only major bad thing is that sometimes the cursor will wrap around one monitor instead of going into the other. But where the computer thinks the cursor is is right (as evidenced by drawing boxes on the desktop). This seems to happen when all windows on the monitor where the cursor does not appear to be are minimised (or there are none there) Having a window open in both does seem to solve the problem, though it is an inconviencence.

Happy days, yeah dual monitor setup at the current time anyway in linux seems to be a pain in the behind when using Gnome and xinerama had similar issues myself and was really unable to find a fix (other then changing to XFCE)

I seem to have it working. The way to fix the really weird mouse issue is to disable the nvidia driver and use the default one. Apparently it isn't needed for all the effects as I am still using the desktop cylinder and such.
