Support for Logitech G13

Postby Kyterra » Fri Mar 11, 2011 6:57 pm

I found your ultimate-g15-toys package and installed it, on the off chance it might support a Logitech G13... but alas, either I did something wrong or it could care less about a Logitech G13. That said, is there some support for G13 elsewhere either in Ultimate Edition Gamers, Ultimate Edition 2.8, or perhaps even outside Ultimate Edition entirely?

I've done some google searches, but only to find outdated vaporware projects.

@BlackWolf
I did find that post earlier. As you can see, the last post indicated they were unable to get function from the g13. Hence, my inquiry here if Ultimate Edition/UEGames or the linux-pros here at Ultimate Edition might have any additional information on the g13. Sadly, it's lack of support is diminishing my enthusiasm for a 100% switch to Linux. I'll have to keep Windows around until the programmers can find support for G13. :-(

I also seen that

Didn't bother posting it due to the fact it ends in failure.

Was trying hard to find a success story lol

So far, no luck just yet.

Found an interesting project on logitechusers.com that might serve as the base for a full implementation of the G13 in linux. http://logitechusers.com/showthread.php?t=9107

Apparently the original author abandoned the project, but he did provide his source code for anyone willing to look into the project. You can find the final code on the last page of the thread.

Still hoping for a G13 solution.

I bought and tried the Razer Nostromo (basically Belkin's n52) in Ubuntu 10.10. It worked right outta the box using the default keys. I found Pystromo which is apparently a means to remap the Nostromo keys. In reading through this thread on the Ubuntu forums, it seems to suggest non-Nostromo gamepads could also be configured in Linux.

Take a look at let me know what you think... still getting my bearings in ubuntu command prompt work.

wish I knew how to help you further.

These are products that I don't use, nor do any of my clients.

Therefor, outside my abilities.

Attempts to find anything that showed to be a success have just not been found.

Sorry, wish I could be of more help, just not products I would use.
