Installer problems

Postby michel » Wed Feb 06, 2008 2:24 pm

Hallo,

I try to install Ultimate Gamers edition on my computer (AMD Athlon XP 2500+ 1GB RAM, 40GB Maxtor HD or another Maxtor 40GB, Motherboard Asus A7N8X-X, Video Card ATI Radeon 9250).
When i start it to install from DVD and i click on the installer icoon, i fill in al the fields and click on install, at about the half of the installation i receive message: "Crached Installer". When i try it another time i receive a message "Yor harddisk is to old or is "bad" When i try it the 3 time it says "Find Bug".

I stop the computer and try another harddisk it's exactly the same.
The hard disks are ok, because it's possible to instal another linux distribution on it.
Please can somebody give me advice?

Hello!

First, have you checked the md5sum of the iso? What speed did you burn the dvd at? Slower speeds are better, more accurate. I'm saying this because you're getting different error messages when you try to install and it leads me to believe you have either a bad burn or bad iso.

Now... What are you using to format with? Guided Auto | Resize or Manual? What filesystem? At what point exactly does the installer error out? 50% 55% 60% and so on... Also, be aware there is/are a few bogus errors that you can just ignore, i.e. kdedocs...

You are using 1.4? First question ...WHY? Second- did you check the MD5SUM of the download and .iso ? Did you burn at a slow speed? Look Here.
