64 bit Gamers edition? (SOLVED)

Postby rjb3353 » Thu Feb 26, 2009 8:23 pm

I assume that since I did not see a 64bit version of the Gamers release that one does not exist. If this is the case then if I install the 64bit version could I manually install some of the games? Would the 32bit versions run on the 64bit install of Ultimate 2.0? I did not have any difficulty doing this on Mepis, however I know that there are differences between distros so I thought I would ask here before I actually install anything on my 64bit desktop. I will just use my old 32 bit Toshibia laptop in the mean time.
Thanks for any information that you can share concerning this.
Robert

Thanks TexasMike,
I already knew that you could run 32bit apps in 64bit OS however it seems that some distros the 32bit environment is set and is already to go after you install but others are not. I did not think that Ultimate was and wanted to make sure. Thanks for the link to the libs that are needed I appreciate you taking the time to post your reply. Hopefully one of these days I will gain enough knowledge that I may be of some help to someone else on here.
Have a good day and thanks again.
