motherboard compatibility

Postby Asura » Thu Dec 04, 2008 9:43 am

hello i was wondering if someone could help me. im new to linux and i really want to have a linux os on my computer. i currently have 4 linux os's: DSL,Fedora 10,mandriva 2009 free, and ultimate gamers edition 2.0. i've noticed that the only sucessful install i had was the dsl! fedora, mandriva, and ultimate dont wanna install. i think its because im running an ASRock motherboard with a 775i65G chipset. ive done some reserch and saw that asrock motherboards have alot of issues with linux. so the point of my story is if anyone could help me in recomending a motherboard that can run ultimate edition 2.0 gamer. plz i know its a selfish request but i really loved it and want it to work.

If you read the user reviews in newegg.com you will see Gigabyte and Biostar kick Asus's teeth in, when it comes to reliability and customer satisfaction, they also have high marks when it comes to Linux compatibility.
