WARNING!-I do not know how to use this.

My goal in this is to make a portable card ready to go with a couple emulators and decent games. Like..an actual "Wallet" Distro..but not lame and ugly.

One of my favorite Distributions is Bebian Linux, but ehhhh

So I am going to use Macpup for it's enlightenment pre-installmenteness. There are a few versions available, but I am using Macpup 529 as a base.

To start..I needed a 529
http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/O ... 7022.shtml

I am using a heavily used MicroSD 8gb. First step is to visit Gparted. Basically I wiped the card, and then created a ext2. Then on to Unetbootin. Pretty straight-forward here, drop the .iso on the card. Whenever I really need to use Unetbootin, it just lets me down, I almost always just use DD and create a persistance or use Start-Up-Disk creator for My Ubuntu bases. For some reason, Unetbootin and Puppy work extremely well.

To load just load Bios and have load External SD, or USB Storage..depending on hardware

All right now to power it off. This will start the first save session.

I am using ext2 for .sfs and maxing it to 4gb(Highest at this point) This takes approximately forever and ever, and then a little longer. Nothing is broken, it will be done when the PC shuts off.

So booting up again...

Now I want the rest of the 529 packages so I am going here....
http://macpup.org/runtt21/

Clicking on the 529 Folder will open up the .pets.
Right Click on the Pet File and choose "save link as" and store it somewhere.....I keep these in my created folders, so it will basically be pets/529/
After I have done this with each file in the folder, exit.

Navigating to the folder..the first thing to do is the sys update pet and the extramods pet. Then on to each theme. These are installed by clicking on the .pet. The options will come up.

Then to the Application launcher, navigating to applications-->utility-->resize personal storage file. Here I choose 512 increase(max) and reboot, load back in, and the file is resized at start-up. Ideally I want to get as close as possible to the 8gb I have available, so I will be doing this a few times.

So now I am here...I use Bodhi so I'm familiar with enlightenment, this helps a great deal.

So on to games...

Wanted to get Fallout working...an adventure..something happened with the wine install..then something else..ehh..idk..many hours later. I am using 1.5 Wine..can't get winetricks to registry edit, I think I can directly put them wherever, but meanwhile..

So that's cool, I tested on 2 PC. Had to make Window small for netbook, but hey..transferable plug and play fallout.

On to the Puppy Arcade

JWM..is Joe's Window Manager

This is the standard Puppy/DSL Window Manager. Some of this is about my Raspberry Pi(It Always is) I tried to do a Precise Puppy on my own but I was having issues getting Enlightenment going. This is 5.2 that I'm using, the latest release is 5.6. The idea with Precise Peppy is to be able to use the Ubuntu Repos, but it's a double edged sword. Just because it's small, doesn't mean you can take over the world. You still need to meet system requirements to run standard video, etc..

Very Kool.
Have you tried http://www.pocket-lnx.org/ also? Very good for portable distros. I even run it off of a Floppy. ;)

The workspace switch on Enlightenment is pretty awesome, when ran on a normal desk set. It's definitely cool to see here. Technically, I'm not running too lite anymore, at about 120mb which would admittedly, be about the same if I set this up elsewhere. The max is either 12 or 144 desktops...I'm good with 4.

To navigate all this, I have shelves set on autohide. There is one that has a primary purpose of just showing the running apps which is pretty cool, that's how it comes with macpup. Really macpup is extremely cool but...mac? mac? BAD PUPPY!

Anywho..
It is also of course, easy to navigate ALL of the applications with a click on the screen, as far as the various setups for enlightenment. It takes a minute getting used to shelves(panel) and ibars(application launch tray) but that's enlightenment for ya.
