Vey cool combo with Ghost win dec and the wallpaper.

As far as 4.10.4..idk

I have had on Siduction and my 13.10 for a while now, but it just installed recently through backports on my 3.5.1, and I had done my Diamond and got to 4.10.3 just maybe 48 hours previously.

It's cool, whatever Team Ninja wants to do..I mean..ninjas..what are ya gonna do?

There was way too much crazy getting here but I do technically, at this moment, have 4.10.5 on 3.4.1 lite. and oddly, Ubuntu/Unity has decided to make a guest appearance. Basically gambling with dm, settled on gdm. All three environments are working..at the moment.

You can't hold back Unity for very long...

Aaagh..nooo..that doesn't make any sense! Lol, I am actually interested in how this whole multi DE thing will pan out with Ubuntu/Unity-Mir,Wayland-KDE.

It didn't really work at any rate. I think 3.4.1 lite x_86 is kaput.

What did work, and bring everything current, latest KDE 4.10.5 and Mate 1.6,Ubuntu 12.04.2, but not latest kernel was...

3.4 Lite X_86 fresh install..not 3.4.1

Switched to compiz before starting, easier not to mess with later

Terminal
Code: Select all
su

Code: Select all
apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 16126D3A3E5C1192

Code: Select all
add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

Code: Select all
apt-get update

Code: Select all
apt-get install kde-full

Code: Select all
apt-get purge yarssr

Code: Select all
apt-get install kaffeine geany kwin-style-dekorator

Code: Select all
apt-get dist-upgrade

Code: Select all
apt-get autoremove

Code: Select all
apt-get install kde-full

Code: Select all
reboot

After reboot, in KDE the Window manager needs to be triggered, systemsettings-->application appearance-->style-->widget style, switch to oxygen, then systemsettings-->workspace appearance-->window decorations, pick and apply, dekorator can install more.

I don't think that MIR will play nicely with most environments. Just Unity, Gnome 3, and KDE. I guess we have to wait and see. :!:

Still truckin, I moved up to latest version without any problems..pretty rare.

Honestly, the whole backported KDE on Diamond is just about flawless. Too bad Moebius is no good at KDE ;) he would have had a real winner with this, not that it's bad, but there is definitely something going on with Compiz lately and it ain't cool and its hardly limited to Diamond 2B.

Easy fix..compiz --replace, but I seem to be using Unity less and less. I realise its related to how I want my Compiz setup, but grrrr, Unity is built from Compiz!!!

I don't hate Unity and I don't care too much about how "heavy" Unity or KDE are, I have puppies for when I need to drop my RAM. Also most of the "lites" that people think of, like XFCE and LXDE have nothing on enlightenment which looks approximately 698,000 times better, and is wayyyyy lighter.
