Konqueror

Konqueror

Postby BBOSAK2143 » Tue Mar 05, 2013 3:12 pm

Just have to mention Konqueror as is my favorite browser next to Chrome. I mean most times I use Chrome, but finally I wisened up and put this beauty in my OS! Well just as all the other KDE programs have been through massive improvements, I can now see Konqueror has been improved! I think I am looking at a new friend now as it moves great and works beyond reproach! Will most likely give Chrome a rest now as can see Konqueror can do the job very successfully and efficiently! As I have said a few times, KDE just seems to know what users expectations are and fulfill them to a T! Konqueror is also one the best file managers out there and should never be overlooked! I still have the firm belief, that even though Konqueror may take a few seconds later to get to a web page, it will get there versus others that will just go to the ole "Page Can not be displayed!" bit! KDE is what development in Linux is all about. For the user's satisfaction and their highest point, reliability! There is not many other desktops that can match KDE in that sense! I can just kick myself for not installing Konqueror a few months ago, I sure have missed it!!! I have Firefox, but is just not the same, not to down Firefox in the least as there are times it is also great. It is just between the two I will always choose Konqueror. Love the name as it says it all. It does not spin around in circles Exploring, no it finds the page!!! Thanks KDE!!!

Does anyone know what Project rebranded the Mozilla Firefox program in 2006? It is the most processor compatible, bug scrubbed, full blown Browser. Fact, Firefox was written for Windows without any thoughts for unix or Linux. :(

Yes, If I am to look for speed I would use Mozilla or the others. Sure there are points that Konqueror is behind on, but all in all, I like it! Also since its integration into the file system with being a file manager as its Windoze counterpart, is great for XML files. Love the KDE wallet as seems to keep track of things a little more efficiently than others. Might take a minute extra, but when it does save to the wallet, it is there just like in my own wallet in my pocket! With the different sites I have to visit, will stick with it cause will say Konqueror keeps better tabs than I can! So far only Google and my bank complain about me using Konqueror, but they can lump it, as I want the accuracy it gives! It is a tortoise, but is the one that went against the hare, in my estimation. Goes very well with my theme colors and everything I usually need for specific sites I frequent is there. Mozilla also has its duties and I use it when I have to do things only it can handle. Chrome works but is flaky at times. I never know what the window size of it is going to be??? Has been like that for every OS have had, just kind of resizes itself at will!!! I have rekonq also but is a little bland and just lacks that certain personality! Yeah sounds strange, but guess we all have certain things we look for with programs, browsers, OS's, etc! I still use the others, except I have yet to use Opera. I will have to install and check it out!!! I have learned from using Ultimate that most times many things are needed!!!! Is the reason Ultimate is so rich in programs and all the functions it has!!! Also have done the best I can with my own OS to resemble that!!! Variety is sure the spice of life!!!! This is what Linux and Ultimate are all about!!! Is the greatest experience in computing to actually enjoy the OS and programs you are using. Is incredible and unbelievable at times, that this is all free and the vast intelligence behind it!!! Just had to boast on Konqueror as has always had that certain kind of grace, KDE is known for!!! Their programs just open and work like well-oiled machines! They deserve great credit for everything they do!!!!

Konqueror is pretty hardcore once you get the hang of it. I'm more comfortable with dolphin at root and moving files. The fastest Browser is the Browser that is fastest, not the name. It changes. You only limit yourself if you decide you will only use one because of it's "superiority". I am preferable to netsceaselox at the moment. It is not the fastest over all, nor is Opera.

And now, the completely true facts, as told by an anonymous man hiding behind a screen name:

For admin tasks I use pcmanfm. To me it's the best by far, especially if you want to change permissions on large amounts of data. Otherwise I use Caja, the old nautilus style browser. I have no complaints or issues with either... :)
