Thanks pch.shot, I would just like to add a couple things.

-Windows Users. Running Windows in a Virtual Environment is a great solution because it eliminates the abundanceof drivers when it comes to hardware specifics. When installed virtually you eliminate this extra load and replaceit with just a few virtual drivers. When it comes to Oracle Virtualbox. It's better to goto the website and get the ext package and installs as they are most likely more up to date than your package maintainers selection. On Linux Host , after ext package is installed, be sure to open users and groups and goto vbox users group and add your user to it. Then restart your Host

- On Linux OS Guest, all thats left is to compile the guest additions. Be sure to install your kernel-headers and sourceplus kernel-package before you install guest additions... ;)

Had to add my 2 cents for Gnome-Boxes, VMware and Virtualbox. Gnome-boxes is just a glorified Qemulator that is just a little simpler to use. Is alright for testing OS's especially for those of us that build our own. Due to its lack of support with USB and CD/DVD drives it is not near the quality needed for full time virtualization needs as VMware or Virtualbox. Also for those new to installing Virtualbox. Before using make sure you issue command line sudo usermod -a -G vboxusers yourusername and install Virtualbox extension pack. Remember to open extension pack with Virtualbox. Also be sure to reboot after the command line and also after updates. Micro, can you be more specific on adding to the vbox user group. I would love to know that way as seems easier than command line if one knows exactly where to look??? I would sure be grateful to get that information as is another piece that has slipped by me and am sure by others!!!!

Np. All that u need to do for VirtualBox is download and install it. download and install extention pack. After you install virtuqlbox it creates a group called vboxusers or vbox something. Then open up users and groups, scroll to bottom of list and you will find this group. Then if u open it it will already have your username below it. so all you have to do is tick next to your username and close the box and restart your machine. now ur host will be visable to your guest as long as the guest additions are set up on the vm. And usb passthrough will work. Thats all. No commands or anything else are needed to fully run vbox on any linux distro.
