I have root. XDA found it and a guide has been posted on Android forums. This is being sent from my metropcs ZTE 730. I have clockwork mod recovery as well. Fair warning, the Rom itself has write protect, so any removal of stock apps will have to be done through recovery and adb. You can always force apps to freeze though through a root app such as lucky patcher or link2sd. It's actually a fairly simple process.
